About Us
The Agawam Cultural Council is an all-volunteer local partner of the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency, and is funded, in part, by the MCC. The ACC is charged with bringing engaging, entertaining, and educational events and opportunities in the arts, humanities, and sciences, to children and adults from Agawam and the surrounding communities.
Using funds from fundraising the following activities are some examples of the Agawam Cultural Council's Give Back to the Community Program:
- Three $1,000 grants to Agawam High School students who excelled in music, art, and writing.
- A fully staged production of Julius Caesar by Shakespeare & Co. at the Agawam High School.
- Springfield Symphony Orchestra Musical Petting Zoo presented to 1st and 2nd grades in the Agawam Schools.
- Applause Series – 9 events, one each month from September to May, free and open to the public with a variety of guests including authors, historians, popular music, and dancers!
- Donations to the Friends of the Agawam Public Library for their Open Juried Art Shows.
We offer NYC bus trips in May and November with up to three buses on each trip. We are a sponsor and participant in SummerFest.
We are always seeking new members. Being a volunteer requires only a limited time commitment.
